Searching for an Online Pastor?
People often find their way to this site because they are searching for an online Pastor. One of the features of this site is that we will attempt to answer any questions that you have about the Bible or about Christian living. Some of the questions we are asked we will share on this site for everyone to read. When we do share a question, we are always careful to withhold names to make sure that this site always remains a safe place. Sometimes, if we feel that the questions are too personal to be put on the site, we will simply email the person asking the question with a private reply. We try and answer every question we receive, although sometimes it may take us a day or two to get you your reply. If you would like to ask a question just go to the Contact the Online Pastor link and enter your question in to the form. You can also use the Contact the Online Pastor to leave a prayer request. We wold also encourage you to sign up for the free RSS feed or email subscription so that you ccan receive the lastest Bible studies, devotionals, Christian advice, and God Stories from the Internet Pastor.

should Christians celebrate holidays such as easter,… halloween, christmas….upon research I found out that these are peagan orgin. Not to mention that Christmas,Easter, ect are not in the bible…Did Jesus celebrate these holidays…they are neither mentioned in the old testament either..
Hi Rose,
Christians often have different points of view about the holidays. Many of our holidays were a mixture of Early Church celebrations and a pagan festival of some sort. The original holy days were the “seven feasts” that God describes for His people in Exodus chapter 12. These would have been the holy days that Jesus celebrated.
There are a lot of things that we do every day that are not in the Bible. Driving a car, using electricity, flying on airplanes, etc. Not being in the Bible is not the issue.
As far as Christmas and Easter, I celebrate them because of what they mean to me. In my heart they are rememberances of the birth of Christ and of all that He accomplished at the Cross. I also like presents!
Hope that helps!

Some where in the Bible, I read about defending your home from invasion at
night, but during the daylight hours,
you should seek help.
Do you know where that scripture is located in the Bible?
Thanks, Joan Terry

Hi Joan,
I am sorry but I am connecting with the verse you are looking for. I even did some searches using “defending”, “home”. “night” etc. and didn’t see anything that looked close. I will publish the comment and perhaps someone will know. Blessings
